I feel a sadness about Mycroft. Sherlock has John, most importantly, but he also has Mrs Hudson and Lestrade and Molly, as well as Mycroft. Other than colleagues, who does Mycroft have to turn to except Sherlock? Of course, Mycroft may have a vibrant personal and social life "off-screen", although the being alone at Christmas didn't seem to point in that direction.
